*Copy Cat Alert* – LinkedIn Releasing Their Version of Post Reactions

At one point in time, the only way to show emotion on social media was with a “like” in the form of a thumbs up. As time went on, emojis became a thing, and Facebook released a wider variety of reactions. On Instagram when you’re about to comment, an entire alphabet of emojis is available. Now LinkedIn, tired of being referred to as “the most boring social network,” is joining in on the fun with their own version of reactions.

According to Social Media Today, this has been being tested and spotted since last November, but LinkedIn made their official announcement on April 11th.

There will be five reactions for users to choose from including: like, celebrate, love, insightful, and curious. LinkedIn also released an article on how they selected the final five reaction choices.

While some lucky users already had early access, LinkedIn has started to slowly release the feature and everyone should have access within the next few months. What do you think? Is this going to ruin LinkedIn forever? Or is it going to make the site more “human” in a professional kind of way? Or is the lack of negative emotions, like thumbs down or limiting the full range of real emotions? Let us know on Twitter.
