What’s New In ClearView Social: Twitter Cards

Peace, ClearView admins! Yours Truly here with another update on new features. Peace, ClearView admins! Yours Truly here with another update on new features.

Let’s waste no time in getting right down to it: another week means another great feature in ClearView Social, where I work with the best team of developers in the world. This week, we’ve upgraded Twitter posts to use Twitter cards.

Before

Until last week, the best we could do when posting to Twitter was to attach the CVSoci.al link and also attach the chosen image. This used up a large swath of the 140 characters available in Twitter posts and didn’t leave a lot of room for the comment.

Boo. We could do better than this. Boo. We could do better than this.

After

Now, by using the Twitter Cards API, the entire article folds nicely into a preview just like you see many of the world’s leading publications doing on Twitter. By making room for the article title, description, and image all contained within the card, we buy back many of the 140 characters—so, for people who have been struggling to fit their comments into the low character count, welcome back another 30 or so characters into your Tweet comments!

Yay! So much more information. Yay! So much more information.

See you all next week with more software improvements!
